finally, Summer
arrived at last,
before its yearly
allotment passed.
cool winds and warm sun,
as if the season just begun.
but the cloak is already drawn,
and it will be Autumn before long.
so sad, sultry season of
drift and sweat;
we always want more
than we get.
still, some glimpse of heaven
before the Fall;
better late, than not at all.

Hi Spike,
Ah yes - those lazy hazy crazy days of Summer
too soon a distant memory. What I want from
Global Warming is 2 summers per year instead
of just one - but then I censor myself - maybe
I ask for more than I can handle.
A fine piece of poetic verse, as usual.
