touch a leaf

swish tea
around
the beginning
of Fall
what's
so many
letters
and dreams
in my teacup
a purchase
of reality
doing nothing
hides
everything
hands
shaking
quieter
than mortality
she might
be dead
stripped bare
the rally-round
replaced
by better
silence
with windows
open
and a tongue
numb
who
turns
3 times
and mutters
under
sage smoke
and forgets
which world
haunts true
illusions
rinsed down
the sink
in my blue
dress
cat slaps
drips
and I'm
a wet
dappled
heathen
of a kind
sort.

I especially like the last two phrases. It's a neat kind of poem in that it sort of leads you down like stepping stones on a path. Nifty! Blessings, SF |

Each one left me with an image in my mind. Telling a story of sorts. This was a very calming poem for me. |
