Faces in Memory's Darkness
I tell you “I love you”
As you lie there in my arms,
Wearing someone else’s face.
Yours is only a mask
You wear to confuse me,
A silent lie to fool only you..
Who we are ceases to matter
When the passions rise,
Losing all vestiges of identity..
You scream my name aloud
But, do you know me or ,
Just by chance you get it right?
Closing my eyes you disappear,
Lost in the memories or dreams,
I forget the here, the now.. and the who.
You say “I love you”,
To a face I know is not my own
But whose I do not know... nor care.
