I Think It's Time

Contributed by katiejon on Wednesday, 20th February 2013 @ 12:27:12 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

We understand the needs and dreams of a gentle man
He walks along from day to day so help him daily if you can,

His dreams are as real as the full moon some nights
He's lonely and suffering and, stays out of sight

You'll find him huddled down in a cardboard box
with his feet and hands frozen , no shoes, no socks

Get him up, clean him up, and stand in front
tell him he is loved and you'll help him with his hunt

Hunt for new life and a better place
tell him he's worth more than just filling up space
Take his hand and lead him with love
you'll find help from the man above

Let him know it's a life long commitment
he will never again live in a box on the pavement

Help him find his place in life
give him respect and help him along
you never know, he could have been gone

Gone beyond help and repair
laying in his box for someone to find
never getting the chance to tell what he left behind

Memories of the war he fought
Memories of the love he sought
Memories of our country
and the war he fought for you and me.

Hello, You did great with your poem up until stanzas 5 & 6 which you put together, then the rest sort of threw me off, because you changed poetry style in the middle of your poem. Other than that, you are creative and have a great talent, keep up the good work.
