I ALWAYS RETURN TO THAT PLACE IN MY MIND
A DARK SCARY PLACE FULL OF FEARS
FLASHBACKS OF FACES SO CRUEL AND UNKIND
THE WINTER THAT CHILLED ME FOR YEARS
SO HARD TO ENJOTY THE WARMTH OF THE SUN
SOOTHING MY POOR BROKEN BONES
WHENEVER IT SHINES I JUST HAVE TO RETURN
TO MY CASTLE OF SAD MOURNFUL MOANS
HOW DO I TRACK THE TRACE OF LOST SMILES
REDISCOVER THE GLEAM IN MY EYE?
THE UPTURNED CHIN OF JUVENIILE
ENGULFED BY THE RIVER OF TEARS GONE BY
WAY DOWN DEEP INSIDE IS SOMETHING SO STRONG
A PART THAT WILL ALWAYS SURVIVE
IN WINTERS DEEP FREEZE A FRAGILE BIRD SONG
CRIES TO THE WORLD “I’M ALIVE!”
THE PAST IS JUST THAT ITS ALL GONE AND DONE
MY FUTURE IS CLEAR DEAD AHEAD
THROUGH THE PAIN OF ITS GLARE,I’LL REACH FOR THE SUN
EMBRACE IT WITH ARMS OUTSPREAD
I’M BEATING THE DEMONS,I’M ENDING THEWAR
FOR FREEDOMS SWEET BREEZE ON MY FACE
I’LL DRAG MYSELF UP FROM MY KNEES OFF THE FLOOR
AND FIND MY WAY OUT OF THIS PLACE
I’LL CONFRONT MY FEARS AND GO OUT WITH A FIGHT
IGNORING THE RUB OF OLD CHAINS
TEAR DOWN THE SHUTTERS,LET FLOOD IN THE LIGHT
I’LL STRETCH FOR MY DREAMS THROUGH THE PAINS
THE LOVE I DESERVE IS SOMEWHERE OUT THERE
A LOVE EVERLASTING AND GREAT
MY SCARRED BROKEN HEART STILL HAS SO MUCH TO SHARE
I’LL SURRENDER AND TRUST IN MY FATE
I HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT MY TIME WILL BE
MY SICK WOUNDED SOUL WILL HEAL
MY EYES WILL BE BRIGHT MY HEART WILL BE FREE
WHEN THE DREAMS I DARED BECOME REAL
JUST AS THE WEAKEST I WILL BECOME STRONG
AFTER ALL THE TEARS IVE CRIED
I SOMEHOW KNEW ID SURVIVE ALL ALONG
MY FLICKERING HOPE NEVER DIED
