I Feel

I have to say I feel quite a bit different
Than my normal self

I feel happy
But depressed
I feel driven
Yet apathetic
I feel moved
And still firmly grounded
I feel love
But I am heart broken
I feel weak kneed
But strong-willed
I feel uplifted
Yet still downtrodden
I feel like I am healed
But I know I am still wounded
I feel alive
But I think like death
I feel solid
Yet malleable
I feel worrisome
But forever courageous
I feel honest
But I’m a thief in the night
I feel pure
With scars of corruption

To think of what I was missing all these years
I never knew I could feel
Like a bone buried by a dog
Long forgotten
Until happenstance rediscovers it
And much like the bone
I have rediscovered myself

Like waking from a dream
I feel shell shocked
As the world I had once known
Crashes down around me

Though now I must say
I feel ecstasy
Because I am a living contradiction
