Hello my dearest Dimmesdale,
How are you on this fine night?
The scarlet A shines in the moonlight,
It shines like the rose bush in the perfect light.
The thought of being with you overjoys me,
Much like the thought of being with our Pearl,
When we are all together,
My smile softens up like the softest of cottons.
Our little Pearl so wise already in her young age.
The thought of her nonacceptance of her father,
It begins to diminish the small hope I have for us.
As the entire community seems to come together as one,
They begin to sound like a large beast, tearing apart the remaining hope.
The only thing that keeps me together,
Is the thought that I may one day be with you and Pearl.
Us together as a family,
Always accepting one another.
Maybe one day the darkness that has filled us all,
May return into the dark of the forest,
And we will all finally be, whole.
