When I was 20 yrs old, that’s when we first met…
My heart raced for you,
My heart desired your presence.
My skin longed for your touch.
When I turned 23,
I fell deeply madly lost in love with you,
We started to discover the world together,
I knew we could accomplish so many wonderful things.
When I was 26 we had cries, laughs and had been through the worst.
We strategized on how to keep our heads above water…
You carried the load when I was 28,
You held it together when everyone else said we wouldn’t make it.
When I was 30 we started on this downward slope.
We fought, we screamed and shouted…
Holding you near…
We made love, just to wipe away and calm the fear.
@32 we hardly ever spoke…
I shrugged off your emotional advances…
I was a bastard for being so cold.
Less and less we talked,
More and more the silence filled the void of a crowed room.
Silent glances at each other wondering about our doom.
Deep down inside, I knew we where in rut…
But, there had to be way for us to work it out.
Now @ 33…
Thirteen years we invested…
If we could make it through November we would be okay.
December 1st, came and you went…
Without a saying good bye…leaving the letter on the desk,
Explaining you had to go.
I am still finding it hard to understand…why??
We could of fought for this…
We could of did something…
Instead…
I,….You quit on us…
Some where in the middle of all of this we we’re both to blame.
