Each Write

Contributed by dvtpdw on Monday, 11th February 2013 @ 01:31:52 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

With each write, looking for ease
Searching for words to slay the pain
A written prescription for the disease
Quiet relief from the endless refrain

Feelings drawn in the blackest of ink
A map to seal the cave of darkness
Build a bridge so the soul won't sink
Into the soft sand of life's distress

Time stills as the letters strike hard
Destiny's call not heard out loud
Words forming a sharp glass shard
Releasing me from a binding shroud

With each write, my confusion grows
Words wander as they grant a peek
Hoping to find the one that shows
A way to what I so deperately seek

The need to continue each write
Burns within my tortured mind
Words stretch out, no end in sight
Must write until none are left behind

Complex in structure with a simple desire, to heal.

It does indeed help to write, does it not?

I often try to articulate this process and you've done it well - well done!
