Irony has struck an unsettling chord
In this tiny house of Love
It’s typical of you to behave this way
Even as I watch you from above
Feelings you must have, I think
Deep within your soul
Present here they are not, oh no
You seem empty like a bowl
Take life not for granted
This lesson I thought you learned
But, alas, you have forgotten
And it’s your Family who has been burned
No matter, we don’t need your help
We’ll manage, we always do
But remember, young one, in the dark
Someday, there may be only you

great write. Sorry things are going hard with your step daughter. Such a complicated deal!! Its hard to watch them messing up but sometimes they need to learn the hard way and all we can do is sit back and watch, what a bummer huh!!! Done the step kids deal, also raised several of my friends kids. I know how this can be. Blessing to you!!
