and then the wise old Shaman said
touching my forehead
I love you very dearly like no one else can
but I am not in love with you do you understand
So as I waited, a little abated
I gave a sigh of relief
for I truly in him believe
and while I pranced through His garden
I saw a delicate swing
which He explained was my Impressions with wings
Cleansed,cleaned and purified
I swing my way between this world and the other
while I sway up and high and farther and farther
I slip and appear to fall sometimes,
Hearing distant bells of time chime
I close my eyes and shrink expecting a nasty fall
But I am pulled back lovingly by someone very tall
so very very very very very tall
that my eyes seem like tiny beads so small
and then the wise old Shaman
touching my forehead says
I love you very dearly like no one else can
but I am not in love with you do you understand
Between the lashes of my lowered eyes I see
Someone smiling at my childish curiosities,
my impatience is as dear to the His wise old eyes
as much as my sunshine laughter,
making me wonder how and why
So I go about my own way exploring, wondering, pondering
So I go about my own way screaming, yelling and hollering
and saying "Oh no one cares"
and then
the wise old Shaman
touching my forehead says
I love you very dearly like no one else can
but I am not in love with you do you understand
I blink and squint attempting to hide my shy smile
and pretend to be in deep thoughts for awhile
I know He knows and He knows I know He knows.
As He bends down to touch my wrinkled nose
the wise old Shaman laughs
and touching my forehead He says
I love you very very dearly like no one else can
but I am not in love with you do you understand
