All of the little ways

Topic: LovePoetry

How is it that through all of the despair in the world...all of the pain and suffering.....all of the death and disease....that the worst pain known to us is that of Love. One would happily take being shot, just for that one kiss. One would stoicly accept a loss of limb, just for one more glimpse. Would suffer through the worst of ailments, just to say one more goodbye. Why? What is it that drives us so? Why do we not simply do as we do with all else in life and just....give in? Let life take us the way it will? The answer....it's because of all of the little things. Once you are faced with the pain....the sorrow....all of the agony your mind begins to do something quite...amazing. You think of how when you say the stupidest things her face lights up into the most joy filled of expressions, how every crease around her lushiously blessed lips rises into the most intoxicating smile you have ever been graced with having the honor to see. How even when you fail she is there to pick up your shattered remains and patiently reassemble them because she believes you worthy of her time and Love. How when you look out of the corner of your eye you can see her there admiring you though you know not why, but you see in her eyes something....inspiring. The image she has of you. The bright sheen of silver being resinated around your soul as she looks into your heart, she coaxes you out of hiding and then shows just how wonderful you are to her by not compliments, not the touches of your skin, not with bantered words of sweet nothings, but with her acceptance of everything that you are, and that you are not. With her being genuinely happy with you and only you. Nothing you could do could ever shatter that gaze....that heart-shattering lock of her mesmerizingly ice blue stare. You instantly remember that touch. That first kiss....the last one....Most people when given enough time to think on it only remember those of a sexual pleasure but those in Love you know....that is not the touch you dream of....the one that keeps you going. I speak of the slight touch of of the hand for the very first time. The electric jolt that is sent from the heart of your essence and then bursts through you as the stars burst through the nights sky, rushing through your veins faster than a bolt of lightning hitting your heart. Your skin tingles as though a thousand and one of Cupid's arrows have hit home, your heartbeat pulses louder in your ears than a hurricane rushing over you. And then all at once, for just possibly longer than half of a second....the calm. The utter peace only to be known to those who have found their true Love. A single halfspan of such clarity that absolutely nothing can touch you. Your future unrolls in your mind of all that will be with this eternal soulmate. You are.....free. This is why.....these are the little reasons why. Why at the end, we are taken to the beginning. Why when faced with so much weight, we feel free of it all. Why when even at deaths door, we are filled with that sinlge moment, because that was the truest and most pure moment of Life. Love.
