I live in a World that is upside-down,
Every smile that I see in it, to me looks like a frown.
All I see are people spending their lives chasing happiness,
And I often wonder,
What if happiness is not meant for us all?
Most in the World would say I stand tall,
Respect, achievement, success, friends and love,
Yet my heart is still empty and my soul still hungry!
I was trained and educated to pursue my dreams,
When I woke up happy it was nothing like it seemed.
I was cheered, loved, PAYED and cherished,
And I still ache when thinking,
If this is all I will leave through before I perish?
I know, I can feel it,
Something is out there, something more!
Because I find this popular happiness, rather an excruciatingly painful bore.
There is a hunger inside me to experience something that I do not yet know!
It is an itch on my brain!
Like a want to see my blind spot, walk through a wall,
Become younger every day,
Or paint a painting with the stars’ glow.
I want to be the best at it!
