Patience
The things we want the most in life
Are sometimes just out of reach.
But through the journey we start to see
It’s patience that they teach.
We tell ourselves we cannot wait,
The path is much too long,
But when we obtain the things we want
We find within us a song.
A song that sings of victory,
A song that sings of fate.
A message from your head to heart
That blessings never arrive late.
Keep your gaze true and steady,
Keep your hand upon the wheel,
If ever you think you’re out of time
Dig deep and find your steel.
That thing you want above all else
Is nearer than you think,
So keep your head up precious love
And never let your spirit sink.
I know that fate has love for you
The same it has for me;
It won’t be long, mark my words
Lover, we’ll be three.
