A man is born, wide eyed, naive
He begins to age, oh so fast
learns of love, how badly hearts bleed
learns to move on, leave the past as past
learns of dreams, of what they mean
of men corrupt, driven by greed
of an old man eyes, oh so keen
learns to pass on wants, for those who need
Life goes on, death draws near
family gathers, grieving for the one they love
he does not cry, not even a tear
his days fly past, as if on the wings of a dove
A man dies, no longer naive
he's lived his age, oh so fast
experienced love, his heart had bled
he moved on, leaving his past the past
