Patience

Topic: DreamsandWishes

Good things come to those who wait,
But leave it too long and you might end up being late,
I ask why as I grow up why everyone seems colder,
They tell me you might not get it now but you'll understand when you're older,
They say patience is a virtue and you must learn to wait,
But it is far too easy to be lazy, drift off or just procrastinate,
I'm hungry, have desire and want to achieve,
Because it seems the older we get the less we continue to believe,
I want to do something great I want achievements to be hung,
I am not naive just determined, I am youthful, not just young,
They say patience is a virtue and you must learn to wait,
But if I wait too long, I fear it will be too late

Love it :)

Beautifully written, flows very well, and has a great message that we can all relate to.

I liked your concept and the way you presented it - very much! It is like the old adage: Live each day as if it were your last; for, after all, how do you know it is not?

A good poem like this reminds me of the pros and cons of waiting for something/someone.

My saying is, "You can't have PAIN without PAtIeNce."

I'm fairly young myself and still learning.
Truth is you can't wait forever, timing is everything.

Take care

A subject I explore often....well phrased, Dreamer. We could be two peas in pod for our thoughts and things that consume us.

As before, (and I'm sure of more) I dug this piece and look forward to reading more and more as your mind unwraps the gifts of insight you give yourself.
