Singles

Singles are so shallow I hear the marrieds say.
They all look out for number one, and all they do is play.

No one is a stranger; they just "love" everyone!
And unless you're memorable, they'll simply call you "hon".

They never save their money;
They all sleep in the nude!
They'd rather have their hair done than a freezer full of food!

They're deadly on cholesterol;
they never watch TV;
They sleep with perfect strangers;
They live on celery!

They all have pocket address books;
They're all age twenty-nine;
They live in beige apartments;
They fit in Calvin Kleins!

They worship tans and spoil their cats;
They meet in bars and laundramats!
They all resemble centerfolds; and none of them are growing old!

Singles are so shallow I hear the marrieds say,
Remembering the children that we were just yesterday.

I remember those days of little worry and much fun! I miss them, but I wouldn't give up my family to go back ever!

Good write. :)

This was so true it was funny. Well true to these eyes. I enjoyed this as I sat in my robe with all of my lotions and potions ;)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
