  Social

it started with the keys

it started with the keys
they are gone
where did they go?

i search and seach and seach
eveywhere
every pocket
every bag

how could i be so irresponsible?
to my office, my cherished beloved office
i have to tell my supervisor
how embarrassing

the next morning
they appear
there they are!
on my seat?
my drivers seat?
how did i not see them last night?

throughout the night
i lose my earring
it is nowhere

not on my couch
not in my bed

gone
disappeared

the next day my car decides
to spin us out on a rainy sat morning
it was on an exit ramp

i don't know how it happened
it was so surreal

i spun
i turned
i hit the gardrail
bounced off
and landed in the center lane
with my engine off

i sat in awe

in awe of how

how did this happen?

i play it over and over again
did i do a 360
a 180?
i'm not sure

i didn't hit anyone
and stoppeddead center in the lane
facing the correct direction

i am fortunate

blessed

it could have been so much worse

i wonder
to myself
what is it that i am to learn with all of this?
it's too much to not have a message

then today
i file i saved
was not there

i had prinited it
yet the file was not there

this is ridiculous
i say

i have to retype what i had already done
ugh

will it end?

perhaps this is necessary to make way
for something new

something better

something sacred

i hope so!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
