Return..

Topic: LostLove

I slowly opened the doors to a dungeon…
To a place where no one dared enter,
But, yet I let you in.
You shared my heart, my pain and fears.
The beast inside that I thought I was…
You showed me I was not.
From the frozen exterior came the compassion…
I felt the warmth of your breath sighing deeply on my chest as we slept.
Avenues of bricks came down for every secret I shared.
That darker the secret,
The more I fell deep in love with you…
I laughed when I should’ve cried.
You gave me the confidence…when you heard that sigh.
Hopelessly I stare into the abyss hoping for you return…
Wondering why was it me,
You had to perform this experiment on.
The moment you left…
My world cried, my fears returned…and my heart was gone.
Slowly I feel the mortar and brick being rebuilt.
A defense mechanism instilled to help me cope.
Why did you say it was, and it wasn’t…so, why say its so.
Love eternal you scribbled on the walls is what I interpreted.
Leaves everything I thought we built in the firmament.
The lights are dimmer,
The moon fades into the morning faster,
The sun hides in the clouds longer.
And the west swallows the day with ferocity.
All I’m left with is the memories of our harmony.
This dungeon I’m slowly building…
Waiting for your return.
Naďve for me to think I’m any of your concern.
I will try to wait till the final grain,
I just don’t know how long this heart can take this strain…
