Priya's long hair flows behind her
and she goes into conniptions in the wayward rains of September
whirling her striped umbrella on the river bridge
in a rare show of stupor.
She does not respond to base stimuli in her present state;
poking fun of others she marvels at the conundrum of
how so long a bridge could be built across the Mahanadi
when the sea water sent shivers down the river bed.
Priya's nose glistens in the dim hazy light seen through the rain -
a Grecian bridge abruptly runs downwards to form nostrils.
Her eyes seek to acquire binocular vision for an augmented depth perception;
but what she forgets in the frenzy of drive is her unfazed poltroon.
This is the first time in a thousand years she touched a man
who was waking from his primordial slumber of womanlessness.
Priya looks at a band of thunderstorms on a weather radar taking a bite off dark chocolate
and now she knows her man is no more a shadow she has chased so long.
