Wingless Angel

Topic: selfstruggles

She was at the top.
At the top of the world, she wore her crown.
A crown of power which many envied.

No one knew how she got there, but
nobody got the chance to ask.
So there she sat, upon her throne.
Watching us all from above.

She was the queen of all, but it
wasn't much.
Some called her an angel, others
left her nameless.
The things is, nobody knew about
the crown she wore.

As years went by, it only got worse.
being nameless would've been a
blessing.
At the end of her reign, as she
dismounted her throne.
She went back to the place she called
her home.
The place where she didn't matter.

In fact she was hardly wanted,
although that was the way
she wanted it
She couldn't of left if they did.

On her last night, she drew her last
breath.
Dreaming of all that she had left.
Dreams of one day learning to fly.
She let these dreams pass her by.

She wrote down her goodbyes, and
took a look around.
And on her desk she saw a crown.
She picked it up and put her
notes down.
she laid down in bed, tiara carefully
placed, she waited for it to sink in.

The next day was the worst by far.
She made her way up, even higher
than her castle.
She went straight to the clouds and
up into heaven.
And opened the gates.

It was the day she discovered
she was always an agel without wings.
Just wishing for a chance to fly.
