Fly high sweet angel, for Jesus calls you home,
he waits for you my darling, as he sits upon his throne.
My hearts still breaks as he reclaims you for his own,
a child gifted down to me taken, my hearts a heavy stone.
I cry now because I loved you before you ever got to be,
But Jesus simply whispered you werent meant for me.
For a very brief moment, my only prayer was answered,
then suddenly was gone, my sweet prayer answer.
In my heart i knew that you were not a guarantee,
now it is our Father instead, who bounces you upon his knee.
Fly high sweet angel, and know I love you so,
you will always be so special, a memory always told.
Cherished on earth, loved in our hearts,now a child of heaven.
To be a parent is to know the ultimate love, and I know my child,
that even though I love you, Jesus loves you more.
He saw the things that I could not, and knew that for you,
Earth might not be the most perfect spot.
He saw your body might not be perfect so he called you home to rest,
never would I ever lay your tiny head upon my breast.
I loved you then, I love you still, and I can only pray that my heart will heal.
I will keep praying for you still, I love you, fly high, my sweet angel.

| It isn't very often a poem brings me to tears or gives me a goosebump. My heart goes out to you and your family. This write is such a baring of the soul, the grief of a mother's heart and proof of love that can never be taken. God Bless you. A write of emotional greatness. Thank you for sharing, P |
