Devil's Blood

The devil's blood swam through her veins,
It turned the sweet fruits of her womb sour,
A seed had sprouted that never did flower,
A journey begun but snatched in an hour.
Crowds were screaming, pleading to stop,
Crying for their brother's innocent life,
Cursing the devil's workman with the injection knife,
But he ignored the noise and pierced the mother,
As the protesters wept for another lost brother.
Women entered the white room which seemed red as hell,
But the blinded workmen and women couldn't tell,
The so called 'hospital' held the healthy and well,
But no one listened to the desperate, helpless yell.
The savage killing continued despite the screaming begs,
And the devils dead doing dropped between the mother's legs,
excuses circled the room but Atticus would have said;
This doing was simply smashing mockingbird eggs.
The savagery continues no matter what folk say,
What would make a mother turn against their own that way?
I pity the 'mothers', the 'doctors', and to God I pray,
May he take all of his children, who are killed each day.

Very well penned. I think you captured a lot of the horror involved with this crime against the innocent.
