Waking up, still dark outside.
Your arm is still around me.
My hand is still on your chest.
You were still asleep then.
It’s cold as the night in here,
Inside, on this broken bed.
I watched you as you woke up.
Still tired, and so lovely.
We kissed when you saw me smile.
You fell asleep soon after.
Your skin, so warm. So perfect.
The warmth is the thing I remember the most.
I held it in my hands when I touched your neck.
I tell you “I miss you”, and I want you, still.
Always.

Dear Poet,
This is like a mother remembering her baby
But, lovers remembering each other is fine
Your poem is really a nice treat for my mind
Please write and entertain us giving a feast

This is beautiful, I love it when I can personally relate to a poem, and this is one of them! |
