Lifeless

Every step I take,
Every time I wake.
Every single breath,
I am closer to death.
Feeling so lifeless all I can do is cry,
And wishing nothing more but to die.
Streams flow with a vibrant red,
Feeling nothing but dread.
It's so hard to be selfless,
While not trying to feel lifeless.
Every day you just want to curl up in a ball,
Without having to take the fall.
In the end you feel useless,
But overall just lifeless.

I like this poem. I thank you for speaking about something I feel sometimes myself about myself. Lifeless, or worse than, only a projection of life, like a single blade of green grass in a sea of brown deadness.
Your head stuck immovable the only way you could convince yourself this image of the green blade is true is to blow out air from your lungs with all your breath and see the long green blade, one single green strand maybe move. Reality, that's all it is. And it took a lot to understand that because you couldn't move, you were paralyzed completely, you couldn't move the head that holds the vision of just one eye. All that eye can see, besides the darkness of each and every blink.
I'm not saying that to give you courage. I think that's a dumb construct, courage is. Courage or courageousness is valiant only to the possessor, to them true courage need not be shown.
Peace! I wish you well in the new year. Keep writing please! |
