Grey Fades to Rain

Grey; a safe haven within conflict
Tempering and quelling the violent red
Salving the angry orange
Smothering the serene blue
Obscuring the vibrant green
Cloaking those who wish to be invisible
Shade upon the brow in the high contrast world
Mantle of comfort and emptiness

I feel:
Solemnity without reverence
Safety without comfort
Protected yet alone

When I can bear no more it rains
