Leaving your loved ones behind

Contributed by Lenny on Thursday, 27th December 2012 @ 11:23:49 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Throughout the memories that has been created,
Throughout the wonderful moments,
The years have passed in such a bliss,

You've known you are leaving your loved ones behind,
The news has come,
You've told your friends,
The time has come to go away,

Sobs and tears,
Hugs and kisses,
They don't want to let go,

But the time has come,
Yes, it has come for me to start a new life,

But the memories created,
the wonderful moments,
the years of bliss,
will never be forgotten,

'Cause wherever I go,
Wherever I am,
It will always be with me from deep inside,

I shall miss you,
You shall miss me,
I will never lose you,
Nor shall you,

You will always be remembered from deep inside,
'Cause true friendship never dies,

A new day has come,
A new life has started,
Moved to a new place,
Which is now called my home,

Started University to fulfil my dreams,
Made new friends,
Waited for many years to come,

I closed my eyes,
And opened them,
Today I realise it is graduation day,

Proud parents,
Joyful crys,
Warm hugs,

Years went by,
Almost 30 now,

Now I guess it is the time to see my loved ones that I have left behind.

This was a sweet and very nice poem. It has a nice flow and I felt like I was living your life for a few brief minutes as I read that. Glad it ended with you getting back to those people that are dear to you! Looking forward to reading more of your work.
