Soft slumber, for moments,
somewhere between waking and nightmares.
Somewhere between sweet dreams and daybreak,
blushed dawn and sleepy haze.
Fitfilled sleep, eyes wide open
wishing for sweet dreams
night slumber, daydreams
nightfall is too suffocating at times
clusters of thoughts fit in one's mind.
Night terror, though you are awake
overloaded with it all.
Remembering that peaceful place
in meadows sweet, wild grasses
the place where roses bloomed
nature's perfume filled the wind
dove song, warmth of sun
where children ran and played
blossoms in the hair
carefree, tender innocent.
Moments before sunrise, pink blush
hushed world, golden moments
hope floats in waking moments
peace filled calm, coffee on
sound of children sweet
the place where roses bloomed, complete.....
Love lived on, another time,
now seems far gone.
Where good walked
people loved and talked
fear was null, joy soft joy
love came softly, life.
Hope floats, hope floats....
God's will? No I cannot think this.
Satan running the streets?
Sometimes in times such as these....
I cannot doubt that now.
Sheep? Not I..... Division yes, makes all cry.
Dusk we once loved,
now it's just dark,
or can we still see the sunset, before it?
Tucked into bed, sweet dreams
or daylight's nightmares haunting our sleep....
Somewhere another field, another place
roses bloom, spread on graves
a peaceful place, a place of rest,
petals falling, their sweet smell with the wind still in tune.
Beautiful, yet bitter sad, thorn this time
Hope still floats.....
Children still dance with petals in their hair
we can still love
but hold on tight
and keep a rose, day and night
dream of the happy fields
when you lay down to sleep tonight
stave off the darkest hours
after dusk before dawn's new light.
I knew a place where roses bloomed....
sweet

You're such the philosopher. Deep thoughts, troubled times, wishing for better times.
Great write as usual.
Thanks,
