Dear Lord We Cry

Contributed by shelby on Sunday, 16th December 2012 @ 03:44:49 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Photobucket

I sit here tonight wounded, listening to the rain.
Listening to the wind. Tears on cheek.
Watching the Christmas lights so beautiful,
twinkling, blinking, all so surreal.....Rain crystals brushing the windows
lone tear drops trying to turn into white snow but caught somehow.

Heavens weeping too, Angels tears, fathers tears, mothers tears.
Childrens tears, aunt and uncles, sisters brothers, grandparents, teachers,
doctors, nurses, police officers, our President, all of us.
A collective ache around the United States, the world,
a collective ache of formed pain, sifting in the shadows
falling with the winter rain, cold to the bone in the crystal snow.

The Crows have been calling to me, watching, owning my feelings
they feel it all in the air, I know, even the pines seem to weep.
The sky dark, starless but I know the moon and stars are there somewhere
they too are hidden, sullen beneath a canopy of black.... they mourn too I suppose,

I swell between sadness and anger this week, ebb and flow, no sense to it all.
Reaching for the light, grasping in short spurts for hope, feeling hollow.
We all own and wear our pains in different ways, our own beliefs...
I wont preach a God or Jesus to anyone, we dont believe the same..
Dear Lord Iv cried alot, tried alot....... we have all cried today, this week......

Then I snap back to the Christmas lights blinking away before me..
nothing seems the same now..... its in the air. Yet I wont cave, I am still looking for the stars... the moon
the sun.... but I feel it will be awhile....... sometimes life changes us..... this is our wake up call...
Unite, rise, love one another..... Stand, rise from the ashes........ yes it seems easier said than done, doesnt it??
We share one voice, we live one life, damn the men that walk with evil intention, they pain they cause.Anger boils again.

I cannot dance in the rain, in the storm, not tonight, my legs dont seem to carry me.
Faith? Its seems like it flew away with the last Crow that left my porch tonight before the blackness came.
Where do we go from here?????? How do we bring healing to those who have lost so much?
Priceless, what do we say? Silence may bring the answers.....

The rain is drumming harder, we must move on. Dear Lord we all cried.....

Hi Shel,

Even in the happiest and holiest of times, Evil
is afoot. I'd never heard of Sandy Hook
before, and now I'll never forget it ...... for the
worst of reasons. God love them, each and
every one!

Tommy
