A mommy's lament

Contributed by shelby on Sunday, 16th December 2012 @ 02:25:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

She imagined her before she knew her womb.
Yet never imagined elation nor pure joy
Until that moment she felt that first flutter
As she formed in her tummy near her heart.

Two hearts beat in one body now
As her belly grew and she rubbed it gently.
A raw pure love formed she never knew nor felt
No explanation for it only true and pure love.

She imagined no pain such as the day of birth
Yet elation took each ounce away, natural pain killer, pain subsides.
Pure joy and overwhelming love, tears flowing her pink hot cheeks
Her baby daughter laying on her chest, naked and wide eyed, pure.

Lilly she would name her Lilly, beautiful as the spring
Her little sweet darling oh what hopes she now had for her.
How blessed she felt, she was now a mommy, overjoyed
Her gift from the Heavens, hers to provide for, love and protect

This she would yes she would…….

She grew by the day ,the hour the moment.
She began to walk, to talk to play.
I love you’s sweet and tender
The pure beauty between mother and daughter employ.

A small big girl now, tears falling as she starts her first day of school.
Off on her own with new little friends, a teacher to share her day.
Big world, new world but all is fine, growing up comes with it
From the first days she’s born…..

Then in a blink her small big girl she no longer is here…
The winter wind sighs, the sirens scream the winds
How can this happen? This cannot be the end?
A mothers elation has come to an end.

Her screams in the winds, those cold winter winds
Her heart slowly icing over, nothing will be the same again.
Mommies lament, and the world spins round
Her Lilly is gone, in a winters cold snow…..
Harsh winter, as the Town Center Christmas lights blink against the sky
The Angels now weep the world softly cries……..

A horrible horrible year for shootings. It's like what the *****? The heinous sick ***** of the world are trying to out do each other. It's like what the *****? :( I am still numb. The Colorado theater thing, the mall, now this???!!! 2012 not a good year.

*sigh*

Anyway, your poem was awesome. I knew where you were going with it and I could already feel the pressure in my throat trying to hold back the tears. But I read on because I knew it would be great.

Awesome tribute, Chelle.

A mothers lament uniting the world's mothers through that amazing love, maternal love that unites in grief. Your words touching and uniting us with truth, empathy and a heartfelt write that is deeply felt because its real.

Heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Yes, such love coes from one source, the Alha and goes back home into the Omega.
These holy angels are in God and we can invoke their help.
Wonderfully written
Blessings
Elizabeth

Very well written, and only a mother could write those words. There is so much heartache nowadays from events like these
