Silent the Chances

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Thick silence around me abounds
Can't hear any of your sounds
See your lips moving up, down
Watch your face make a frown

Why won't the sounds break in
When did this deafness begin
Brain refuses to recognize words
Heart is freezing; this is absurd

Soul whispers the startling truth
Reality's harshness it doesn't dilute
Too many chances you were given
Now life will be only truth driven

You say the same words over and over
You promise us a life built on clover
Yet the stunts you pull never deviate
What carnage, damage you still create

Inner voice begs for the words to tell
How your every syllable creates a swell
You mutter on with each disgusting lie
Never seeing how you make us cry

Close my eyes, draw a deep breath
I know this is yet another love test
Strength found for no further chance
This is the end of your evil dance

Hear the slam of the closing door
Smile to realize I just left the floor
Laugh at your loss to hurt anymore
You're delegated to a distant shore

Chances are given more than expected
Life grows strong when they're accepted
Abuse the right to have yet another go
Goodbye happens, as you now know

Beautiful. It touched my soul.
