Reflection of a Fool

Contributed by mchall629 on Saturday, 1st December 2012 @ 10:11:04 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Setting here looking at the bottom of the pool
And all I see is the reflection of a fool.
Stuck between heaven and hell
Trying to understand how to say farewell.

I can't believe I let myself fall so hard
Or how I ruined us from the very start.
I feel as though my heads about to burst
When it comes to love I guess I am cursed.

I don't know any other way to love
There's no in between or sort of.
When I give my heart you get it all
Regardless of how hard I might fall.

I don't see any obstacle we can't overcome
Except losing you would cause me to succumb
To my nightmares and live forever in misery
Those thoughts leave me hurting and empty.

I wonder what kind of fool am I,
A grown man that breaks down to cry.
Over a love that is so brand new
Without knowing her true feelings for you.

How stupid could I possibly be
To think someone like her could love me.
Throwing caution into the wind
Pretending we could be more than friends.

Tell me you hate me, say you could never love me
Tell me anything that I might believe.
Tell me there's no chance for us,
Or tell me there no hope for success.

Say anything that will end my hopes
The noose is tied, just pull the rope.
I'm not strong enough to walk away
For on it's own my heart will not sway.

Something that you want so much
How do you forget the feeling in her touch.
How do you forget her lovely smile,
When that's all you see mile after mile.

I can't change the feelings you hold inside
Just as my feelings for you I can't hide.
I am not asking you for a commitment
Just begging not to keep me so distant.

It's going to kill me not to call you,
But I'm the reason you fight with these issues.
I guess I have to try and be strong
Let go and try not to hold on.

I'm sorry if the words don't make sense tonight
The heart and mind are in a constant fight.
Tell me what you want me to do
No matter how hard, I'll do what you ask me to.

Know that if we were never to meet again,
You will always be more to me than just a friend.
You now own a large piece of my heart
Forever until life's last plane departs.

I often ask myself if I am ruining the chance of a happy future because I don't believe I am deserving of that future. The answer is obvious. Make yourself believe you are worth it.
