She meant to cry

Contributed by Jilli_bean on Monday, 12th May 2003 @ 07:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

she meant to cry...
she meant to have that sad day
you know after a long hard day of school
she meant to reflect
look at all that had happened
but they tears remained hidden
hidden within a child barely 15
inside her broken eyes
and lost mind
she kept herself sane in public
she managed
but once the bell rang
she was locked away at home
confinded to her room
by means of her choice
it was a safe haven
unlike anything else she had know
the minute she stepped out that door
someone left her
something had died
everything changed
her dad sick
uncle dead
mom coughing
grammy weak
nothing seemed the same
she was a rock
dead inside
...but as time moved on
she progressed
...things changed...
however
she meant to cry

I can relate to this so well. When people are around, you just have to be strong, you can't break down. But as soon as you're alone, and no one is watching, you crumble, you break and you just let everything go. Thanks for sharing thisd. Looking forward to your next write.

Jillian... I'm at a loss of words. This is defiantly a reflection of our lives... you and I, that is. Dead... like a rock inside.

Another statistic... that's what I call it. That smile- it can go a long ways in this deadended world. You told me that once... and you ar right. You just need to cry sometimes... don't bottle it up inside.

Read my poem I'm sorry....
