I conquer loves most handily,
Save for the winter witch one dusk
Whose long black hair, sweet spiced with musk,
Lured me to her uncannily.
She loved me in her seaside cave,
My heart and soul were broken, bent,
And all bravado squandered, spent,
She struck me as a tidal wave.
Each dusk I wander shore and fen,
And mark the stars that early rise,
Yet only see her deep dark eyes;
I am the bitterest of men.
I conquer loves most handily,
Save for the winter witch one dusk
Whose black hair, sweet spiced with musk,
Lured me to her uncannily.
