I cannot afford to die!
It’s enough to make one weep
With my current elation
Over body donation
There’s always a compost 'eap!
I cannot afford to die
ave you seen the price of a coffin?
The price of a casket
A waste paper basket?
Pound stretcher for me to go offin!
I cannot afford to die
There’s organ ,epitaph and vicar
If I’m thrown in the ground
With not a word or a sound
Time’s money, so lets make it quicker!
I cannot afford to die!
There’s a blimming great ‘ole in me purse
On which straw cart
Can me body depart
That’s not a donkey is it? driving me earse?
I cannot afford ter die!
There’ll be a charge at the pearly gate!
With me luck no admission,
For those with no provision!
And no benefits when you die intestate.
I cannot afford to die!
I’ll ‘ave to stay on the earth some more.
Cross me off the bloggs!
I aint poppin’ ma cloggs.
Austerity measures so ard to ignore.
I cannot afford to die!
But living’s an expensive wait
If you ‘ave a spare grave
Can you give me a wave
Before I leave this world too late!

Hi Anna,
I remember seeing a comedy sketch once on
the telly a few years ago, where to enter the
Pearlies you had to first fill in a tax return.
Hilarious! - but you know the old saying .....
MANY A TRUE WORD SPOKEN IN JEST!
Can't afford to live and can't afford to die.
Brilliant, Anna. More humour please, we're
in dire need of it.
