tonight I hunted gators
just a bouie knife & me
to see if I'm still swamp Rat
what growing up would be
Raised in the everglades
we only fished for one thing
only what was dangerous
there was no in between
at dark I would jump in
just to see what we could see
to see what all would show up
coming after me
you would be surprised
red eye's everywhere
guns aimed at all the eye's
my friends were all there
shots being fired from everywhere
not one eye was ever missed
the men they felt me blessed
with the most of natures kiss
today I find it funny
I've went from gator bait
to writing real life poetry
thats worthy of debate
yes I'm southern country
right down to the core
& as I live & breath
I am forever more
