The Frost

Frost covers like a blanket of white,
As night fades to morning light.
For I know today will be cold,
Awaiting new heartaches to unfold.
Each day use to start with high hopes,
No longer do those sentiments flow.
Anticipating the sorrow and pain,
Watching sunny days consumed by rain.
There's a place buried deep within our soul,
That allows happiness to bloom and grow.
I no longer feel that place inside of me,
Like a flower garden over run by weeds.
The more I try and get it back,
The more I feel like I'm under attack.
There isn't anything I want more,
Than to have my place fully restored.
There's someone to bring me out of the dark,
Someone there that can repair my broken heart.
Break down walls and let the light back in,
Someone there that can make me whole again.
For now I'll continue to battle the frost,
Waging war when all seems lost.
Inside myself carrying this empty pit,
Until life finally forces me to quit.

This is a beautiful poem, and I say that because not only
Did it flow beautifully, but I have been here felt like this
As I'm sure many others have. You simply wrapped it in a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing |
