How can I possibly leave you,
When the curtain of time descends;
You see, grandmothers have a specific task to do,
Were it my choice, it would never end.
Grandchildren, I believe, are special treasures;
Precious jewels; the crowning touch.
My love for you cannot be measured;
Even now, I miss you, my little poppets,so very, very much.
I pray that my love transcends the years,
When we're no longer together;
You've brought such joy to me, my dears,
Please remember, I'll love you forever.
The packages of life sometimes contain;
Untimely burdens; yes, some laden with sorrow.
Remember, my angels, sunshine follows the rain;
I promise; there will be wonderful tomorrows.
Love is the legacy I bestow to you,
Aaron Brett, Darci Lynn; be the best you can be.
I pray that my love will carry you thru;
Your happiness; your fulfillment, means everything to me.
Thru the valleys, my little ones, I'll walk by your side;
That journey is no stranger to me.
'Tho the path be uncertain; in your Shepherd abide.
You'll emerge from each trial much stronger, you'll see.
As you walk thru life, stay close to each other;
Devoted friendships; love given; will be returned unto you.
Reach out; encourage; cherish your father and mother,
And when you reach heaven's gates, I'll be waiting there, too.
Thank you; dear grandchildren; your sweet
heartprints touched me for eternity.
