Hotel room
Fence against the cold
Prison of white brick
Hoard of loneness
A maze of melancholy textures spinning webs of depression
Walls suffocating joy, smothering hope
Cradling fear for my consumption
Eye the door bound in apathy
Faith dreary ebbs to endless weeks
No promise tide to wash sadness shore
Spell cast, this room tangles fate
Through window light my soul anointed,
a pledge of innocence of the future
Yet poised like a guillotine the raised window blind threatens autism’s eternal darkness
In place of its swollen promise
