Awakening

I awake from twisted dreams

With your hand in mine

Into stifling darkness

Bare legs entwined

The candlelight projects

Flickering ghosts

Onto the bare walls

Of the white room

A murmur

A shudder

As I contemplate the orange glow

Reflecting

Shimmering and dancing

Like the sun rising

In your sleepy eyes
