Innocent Eyes.

Contributed by northernlights on Friday, 9th November 2012 @ 03:13:12 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Innocent eyes cry the blood of betrayal as the heart that

Sought the love of her protectors is pierced,

And the eyes of the world look on in bewilderment.

Nature gave her beautiful eyes, inquisitive searching eyes

As a rose about to bloom she tenatatively began to explore

Her world and that fated day she dared to follow instinct

And she looked, just for a second,

The glance, the price she would pay for with her life!

Then they dared to spit from their venomous lips

HONOUR.

The vipers that nurtured their prey until they saw her

Eyes move.

Depravity their dictator they ignored the love shining from

Eyes that only ever sought their approval and with their own

Eternal sin they closed them, crushed her limbs and bathed

Her in their acid venom, till melting her life from this world,

And I can’t stop the tears and I can’t wipe the stains from

Her cheeks. Her pain is immortal but in Humanity’s eyes in

This world, the Universe and in the life hereafter they have

Brought irredeemable Dishonour.

Hi Anna,

Tragic, to say the least - but happens so often
in many countries. ''We only destroy what we
fear.'' What threat does a 15 year old girl
pose to the muslem world?

Change is happening, slowly, but still its
happening.

Tommy

A dreadful situation which we hear about all too often. Change needs to happen NOW.

we have tobe careful about sitting on our high horse when so much worse is happening in our societies. Not to excuse the ignorance of those people abroad but in our midst are the likes of anders breivik, jimmy saville, jozef friztl etc. Being a muslim myself i find it sad that people are all too eager to accept stereotypes without any investigation or deliberation. This is not an accusation but rather food for thought, i think norther lights is an excellent poet.
