the faint light of lonely windows in the distance
is like tiny fireflies seen through the glass surface
my arms hang low just like a doll
my neck is broken and I cannot stand up
the roaring noise inside my head
feels like an ocean pouring inside my ears
the noise returns and so i drown again
and again and again and again
floating down, spinning around
colored glass shards look like the ocean fish
the light hits the surface, I make a face.
I try to smile, and I drown again

I don't know if it's because I almost drowned once but this poem had a powerful effect on me. I could feel the breath leaving me, again and again, pulling me under. I felt this person's pain. Greatly done. Thank you.

It's bleakness is it's power.
Compelling read.
Keep up the good work.
