The Rose

Calm the night and stilled the sea
Bathed in its tranquility
A fleeting glimpse of death`s repose
Gently stirred the sleeping rose
(But still too blind to understand
I let it wither in my hand)
The lifeless form fell to the earth
There again to find new birth
For withered though the rose may be
Its seed lives on eternally

I also think this could be the encapsulating image for letting love go and not recognising what you have. I love the image of the rose and this is beautifully written. |
