The wind blows so cold on Saddleworth Moor
Where the voice of a child is heard in the gloom
“I`ve slept here so long, I want to go home”
“Please take me back my own little room”
As rain tumbles down on Saddleworth Moor
His voice can be heard in the depths of the night
Just one little boy who sleeps all alone
Seeks to be free from his sorrowful plight
Through all the darkness of grief and despair
For so many years his poor mother has cried
But never to find her dear little boy
On Saddleworth Moor where little Keith died
Such evil was wrought to five little souls
On Saddleworth Moor near five decades ago
These innocent children drawn to their deaths
The answer to “why” we never will know
If I were an angel, I`d find that dear child
On Saddleworth Moor where deep hidden he lies
No never to rest until he was found
To search every hillock beneath the blue skies
Brady and Hindley I hope will ne`er sleep
Nor find any peace for their deeds so grotesque
Winnie, Keith`s mother, has now passed away
And I pray that her soul has now come to rest
Yet still her heart beats on Saddleworth Moor
(Though death has now claimed her, the day is now done)
Forever and ever to search for her child
As in spirit she seeks to find her dear son

Hi
Saddleworth moor will always be synonomous
with the evil that brady and hindley perpetrated
all those years ago, and how sad that poor
Winnie passed without ever finding the remains
of her son Keith.
I like to think that they are both re-united now
in a place where evil has no power.
Well done in addressing this neverending
mournful tale.

I agree with Tommy. I'd like to think they're reunited and especially where evil has no power. Stories such as this are the things that make me believe sometimes hell is right here on earth.
Thank you for gracing us with your talent.

I have maybe a controversial attitude towards murderers such as these.I think you lose your human rights when you take a life and therefore if you do not at least let the relatives have the peace of knowing where their loved one is after committing such a heinous act then you should be mentally tortured with the image of the victim and their voice until you do give their loved ones peace.Thank you for continuing to make people aware of the wrongdoing of a society that does not help victims families to at least have some closure. |
