Or is this caused by you.?
This distance between us
I cannot bear
Maybe it wasn't us..
Possibly the girl..
Maybe high school
Relationships and that changed me..
But..
I came around
Now I see you standing
Right in front of me
Why are you so far away
We're so out of touch
I've seen the change
I'll bid the "old" you a farewell
Memories will fade
As did our friendship
Whatever came between us
I resent..
As I move on

I sympathize completely! Your poem depicts metaphorically potent separation despite physical union. How distant lovers can become and we remain for so long unaware! Splendid writing,
