this is who I am
& this is what I do
I share Inspiration
the way my heart tells me to
I know the true meaning
of a heart on fire
I know what it feels like
the need to inspire
I want to share emotions
most good but some are bad
most will bring a smile
but some can make you sad
no matter what I write about
I try my best to show
Inspiration is my passion
& I want everyone to know
the joy that I get
that writing gives to me
I keep it true & honest
the way it's meant to be

Your title and the words show great meaning indeed!
Not knowing the writing craft well myself, yet I do know now that I too do like to write. I had felt that I was not good enough to write very well probably starting in the seventh grade. Before then, I just did, because I loved it, and for the same reasons you state.
I like this a lot because it is inspiring to me. There's a wildness to any life, personal facing of fear, endearing lessons by opening up your ear to others tragedy, and knowing, "There before the grace of god I go" are powerful words of meaning. Words by the way are everywhere today, kids, "they say" text more than speak on the phone, or even in person, so they can get their message right.
Remembering that Plato was worried about the written word and reading too much, because he thought people wouldn't question the words they read enough; then you have today the vernacular of hip hop and you wonder where it might lead.
When my brother came back from Vietnam he had a volume of poems that were written by a close friend of his who committed suicide. I read some of it and it wasn't all sad, but it was heartbreaking knowing how he ended his own life, shaving his head completely bald a few days before the final act.
Everything I write here of course is expository, not well thought out in advance.
You see I read the others words, and it inspires me because I can note all kinds of different styles/ some of these are truly fantastic ---
yours truly are, I'm completely convinced.
Thank you!
Peace! |
