The trebuchet of love

Of the tower of my heart
Crumbling tethers cast aside
No flags rise from the rampart
No safe haven the hoary stones provide
For though long ago loosed upon the battlements
By the distant trebuchet of love
The enkindled, supplanted star
Still shines

I don't know if it was intentional, but I like the shape of your poem. its almost a diamond or a star which works pretty well with your words. |
