All Hallows eve
Lucifer, adorned angel turns from light and
Splays his wings seeking dominion once more.
The alpha wolf male sings to the moon
Calling to the darkness of the Universe as
Hell stirs.
A Seer shakes ancient bones and throws them to the floor,
Dice for the eyes of the times.
And shadows gather expectantly
For that split second moment, when the living come closest
To the dead.
And elements howl as minions gather and hunger feeds
The eyes that watch.
Pools form from the salivating lips of brothers ready ,ready for the
Blood, the price to pay, that of an untouched maiden mortally wounded
By wooden claw in proclamation of her ultimate destiny.
Then silence
As though the world has succumbed to a power greater than
Even Nature herself.
Blood pours into the very crevasses of earth itself carrying the power
To transform evil into its new host,
And lightning strikes the forehead of the beast and completes the plans
Of the underworld. Alpha male lies in the jaws of death prostrated as
Hades frowns with the weight of the possibility of failure, then
One eye opens.

Hi Anna,
DEVIL WOLF!! What a brilliant title!
I was filled with dread and foreboding even
before I started to read the body of the poem.
Bloodcurdlingly descriptive and frighteningly
enjoyable.
P.S.
WARNING: Do not read this poem to children
and poets under the age of 12!!
