Benghazi Don't Forget

Contributed by Elizabeth_Dandy on Wednesday, 17th October 2012 @ 04:54:31 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

In grief and sorrow marched the mourners' train
To hear the short heartwrenching eulogy,--
“The dedicated bright Ambassador was slain,
Mowed down by forces of rank infamy.”

“Hands on the task " Ambassador was he,
Who toiled relentlessly for Libya's weal,
In it’s transition from grim tyranny.
And keep it from of some future unknown ill

He toiled with all his heart to serve them well
And had to come to grips with many a chore
Most dire when the darkest force from hell
Mowed down the dedicated bright ambassador.

He so desired Libya to thrive,
In independence and integrity
But paid for noblest efforts with his life
In callous and well-planned fatality

Three men of grace, spunk and integrity
Shared in the dedicated envoy’s death,
When mortar grenades aiming cunningly
Took quick away their staunch and valiant breath.

A victim likewise of bald policies.- -
Priorities in crises do reveal
when values bow to rank frivolities.
And down careens the haughty steamship's keel.

Slain twice, first by the foul external foe
And then let down by craven apathy.
To suffer without help the deadly blow
Lo! murdered by a two-fold enemy.

Benghazi Oh Benghazi don't forget
Your caring and committed delegate!
Who suffered for your sake a cruel fate
Dubbed now forevermore "Bhengazi Gate".

The world bows low before this champion
Of love for suffering humanity
And love lives on - forever on and on
To shine as bright enduring legacy.
