I dreamed a crucifix
When you were crucified
I hung my head in shame;
Yours tilted to one side.
And I, I cannot love you now.
The dog that bit my hand.
The home I knew was gone.
You bought yourself new clothes
and seemed to carry on.
And I, I cannot love you now.
A life I could have had,
indeed it once was my mine.
I put myself to bed
and dream of different times.
I dream a crucifix.
I hang my head in shame.
I get lost and found.
I deny your name.
But I, I cannot love you now.
